If the cart has a PDS drive system (forward & reverse rocker type switch on dash) driving at slow speeds can cause that to happen. The controller has thermal cutback. Driving at slow speeds causes higher operating temperatures in the cables, batteries, motor, and controller. Motors draw more amps at slow speeds (causing the higher temps) because they are trying to get the cart up to speed, once up to speed the motor no longer has to make the cart keep moving faster it just has to maintain the current speed. The motor gets its power from the controller which gets power from the batteries. The batteries have the power but the controller is what limits the amount of power getting to the motor according to how far the pedal is depressed; therefore the controller will get the highest heat buildup at slow speeds resulting in the temporary thermal cutback to prevent from damaging the controller. If this is the case then your cart is operating the way it should be. Hopefully this helps!!!
